It will be your role to encourage as many people as possible in your church to invite a friend on Back to Church Sunday and to be part of this exciting initiative.
Firstly, register you church and order your Back to Church Sunday pack by contacting your regional champion using the link on the ‘participants’ page. If your region is not registered to take part this year, then contact us on info@backtochurchsunday.com.au.
Secondly, your church should appoint a local champion or team to organise Back to Church Sunday. This year we have included a training DVD to help. You can use the DVD and/or go to the ‘welcome workshop’ in your region where you will discover how to plan for Back to Church Sunday with particular focus on invitation and welcome. Share what you have learned with the rest of the church and play the dvd to help people understand more about Back to Church Sunday.
We invite you to share your experience of Back to Church Sunday with your regional champion so that they can get a picture of what happened in your area. It is so encouraging to find out how God has been working in people’s lives and to share these stories with others.
The best thing about Back to Church Sunday was...'the excitement it generated within the community. The way it encouraged us to think about how welcoming we are. The realisation that it is not difficult to invite someone along to church; the worst thing they can say is 'no thank you'.
